Image of making a choice

The decision is made – you want to study abroad. You have chosen where and you selected what. Now you have to pass the required exam in the appropriate language. When it comes to English-language programs, the choice is usually between IELTS or TOEFL iBT. Required for both bachelor and master’s degrees. The only difference is the required points you need to cover.

The main difference is that TOEFL iBT is American and IELTS is a British exam. In 99% of universities they accept both certificates, the question is to choose the one you will do better.

In general, TOEFL iBT is easier. On the one hand, because it tests American English, on the other, because it does not test specific knowledge, specific topics, grammar rules, etc. If you have the confidence that you have a good command of English, you will only need to know the form of the exam and you are ready to appear. While IELTS requires a little more in-depth training and tests British English accordingly.

However, TOEFL iBT is a more stressful exam. And no matter how good you speak English, you are likely to worry about the computer and the people around you who are talking at one and the same time. This is also the reason why often the same person is taking twice the exam and the result of the second time is ~ 10 points higher. While the speaking section at IELTS is a real test, many applicants report as a plus.

Another major difference between the two exams is appearance dates. For TOEFL iBT, the opportunities are much more – both as dates and as centers where you can pass the exam.

How is the CAE? A certificate that is somewhat approaching difficulty to IELTS but, unlike it, TOEFL iBT is valid for life, instead of just two years.

Keep in mind, however, that:

1) they do not recognize it everywhere,

2) if they usually recognize it, it is the requirement that you take it with “A”

3) whether it is valid for life when it comes to applying for a job, the condition to have it the last 2 years remains.

The difference in one word – CAE is a certificate, TOEFL iBT and IELTS are exams.

Whoever you choose, success!

Denmark – excellent in “Green” specialties

Over the past two or three years, the theme of climate change and environmental protection has found its place in every sphere of our daily life – from national and regional policy, through socially responsible “eco” campaigns of small and big companies to energy – Household appliances and the refusal to use polyethylene bags.

Global climate change and the need for a common policy for sustainable development have the need for experts in the field of ecology, environmental sciences, renewable energy, sustainable development and biotechnology, protection of water sources and so on.

And as the European Union has established itself as a leader in the fight against climate change, Denmark has managed to rank among the countries with the most experience in the field of environmental and environmental protection. Not surprisingly, the country hosted an international conference on climate change, held under UN auspices in December last year in Copenhagen (COP15). The main objective of the conference was the creation of a new general plan of action to replace the Kyoto Protocol (1997).

Aalborg University

In addition to paying special attention to environmental policies, Denmark is also investing in the development of more green specialties.

So it quickly became a preferred destination when it comes to studying ecology related subjects. One of the universities offering the largest selection of specialties in this field is Aalborg University. Over 14,000 students from all over the world are trained here. The university has earned its place among the most prestigious Danish universities.
